Youth Advocacy for our Forests, Oceans, and Planet







Global Activators is planning the Turning Point youth summit that will bring together many outstanding teenagers aged 14-18 for an uplifting one-day gathering in Vancouver on Saturday, May 17th, 2025. It is focused on uniting and inspiring youth to take a lead role in protecting our living planet. The conference themes include forests, oceans, global overheating, advocacy, and youth empowerment. At Turning Point, you as a participant will learn directly from young environmentalists, Indigenous leaders, scientists, senior government officials, representatives from environmental organizations, and sustainable living experts.
Performance Works on Granville Island
Turning Point will take place at Performance Works, a beautiful venue located beside an ocean-front park on Granville Island in Vancouver (1218 Cartwright St.).
The agenda will include:
A Forests Panel, an Oceans Panel, and an Action Panel (Advocacy skills, sustainable living, etc.)
Small group discussions
Socializing and building support networks
A dance
Speakers will include Seth Klein from the Climate Emergency Unit, Dr. Teresa Ryan (Sm'hayetsk) with UBC and the Mother Tree Project, and Ms. Jinhwa Hwong-Ambros (For Our Kids).
Turning Point will be a fun, insightful, and highly inspirational experience. Come join us at Turning Point and be part of this new and powerful alliance for positive change!
Early bird registration deadline is April 26th. Everyone who registers before or on this date will be entered into a draw for prizes generously donated by Patagonia.

If you're on southern Vancouver Island, send us an email, as there are a number of students meeting on the ferry / taking public transit from Swartz Bay and we could put you in touch to informally meet and travel together.
